Hvidovre is no longer under pressure from the Danish Football Association (DBU) in the match-fixing case. Five months ago, the police dropped the charges against four players who played for Hvidovre in 2010 due to insufficient evidence.

What happened?

DBU then continued to pursue disciplinary cases, but it has not proven possible, admits DBU on Wednesday.

Why is it important for Hvidovre?

  • We now consider the case closed, says Jakob Høyer, communications director at DBU.
  • We have zero tolerance for match-fixing, which we see as the biggest threat to football and sports in general.
