Hvidovre has lost a key figure as Simon Makienok has chosen to leave the club after two years and 46 games. This is confirmed by Peter Lassen, sports manager for Hvidovre. Lassen is both happy and sad to see Makienok go, as he has meant a lot to the club. Makienok signed with Hvidovre in the summer of 2023 and has since been a regular part of the team. He has scored 10 goals and has been instrumental in leading Hvidovre to the playoffs. Peter Lassen says that Makienok is world-class and that he will be missed. Makienok returned to Denmark in 2022 after a long period abroad, where he played for German St. Pauli. He continued his career at AC Horsens before moving to Hvidovre. Hvidovre was unable to keep up in the Superliga and was relegated after one season. The club is giving it another shot under a new head coach, Martin Retov. Makienok's departure is a major loss for Hvidovre, but the club must look ahead and find new solutions. Peter Lassen is both optimistic and realistic about the club's chances in the upcoming season. And with Makienok gone, Hvidovre will have to find a new way to score goals. But Lassen is confident that the club can find a way to replace Makienok's contributions. So the future looks uncertain for Hvidovre, but one thing is for sure: the club will have to work hard to succeed without Makienok.
