Hvidovre IF are set to lose one of their most promising talents to local rivals BK Frem — and it’s happening before the 1. Division season even kicks off, where Hvidovre currently sit second with zero points after failing to score or concede in their opening fixtures.

What happened?

20-year-old midfielder Rasmus Blæsild is leaving Hvidovre IF for BK Frem on a deal running until summer 2028. The Valby-based club announced the move on Tuesday, with sporting director Peter Lassen expressing strong enthusiasm.

— Rasmus is a young and talented player with huge potential. He has a good understanding of the game and a work ethic that fits perfectly with the way we want to play, Lassen said.

Blæsild himself was in no doubt when Frem approached him with their ambitions and his role in the project.

— When Frem and Lassen reached out and told me about the club’s ambitions and my role in the project, I had no doubt this was the next step in my career, Blæsild explained.

Why does this matter for Hvidovre?

Losing Blæsild hits Hvidovre IF hard at a crucial moment, with the team sitting second in the 1. Division with zero points and yet to score or concede. The young midfielder was a key figure, combining game intelligence with relentless work rate — traits that made him vital to the team’s setup.

With just three games left before the summer transfer window, Hvidovre must act fast. The team currently has a goal difference of zero after zero goals scored and zero conceded, highlighting the urgency to find a replacement.

What’s next?

BK Frem open their CampoBet 3rd Division season on August 1 away at Holbæk. Blæsild joins a club that has just lost a central figure but is now banking on him to help rebuild.

— I can’t wait to get out there and play in front of the fans and hopefully repay the trust they’ve shown in me so far, Blæsild said.

Hvidovre IF face a tough task replacing Blæsild’s contributions as they continue preparations for the new season. With their next match against Vendsyssel FF at home on July 25, 2026, getting off to a strong start will be essential.
